Leadership Drama: African Youth Empowerment 2013

Charlotte and William co-wrote and directed a compelling six-part TV drama series focused on developing emerging African leaders through the M&S (VegPro) Emerging Leaders’ Programme. Filmed on location in Dandora, one of the continent's most challenging environments, this production utilized drama therapy techniques to engage a local workforce often facing extreme economic displacement. By transforming professional training modules into an engaging mini soap opera, the creators allowed the participants to workshop and star in their own stories.
This innovative project empowered the cast, providing a significant psychological boost in confidence and agency. With over 750,000 viewers across Africa, the series has become a powerful tool for social change. Vegpro hailed the inspirational results, noting that this creative intervention led to a remarkable 75% increase in workplace productivity and community morale.
